Established in 1943, many of the first families served by Holy Child Day Home were children and their mothers who went to work
during WWII while their husbands served overseas.
Today, the Day Home is a licensed preschool and kindergarten located at 440 Reno Avenue in midtown Reno, serving about 160 working families everyday.

Services with support from grants
and contracts, tuition is available on
a sliding scale according to household
income. Breakfast, lunch and snack are prepared fresh daily in the Day Home's commercial kitchen. And thanks to a generous grant from the E.L. Wiegand Foundation, a complete renovation of the outdoor playgrounds and indoor play area was completed in August 2006.
These improvements will help make it possible to continue a 63 year tradition of providing superior child care, preparing future generations for a lifetime of success tomorrow.
