Everyday for more than 40 years, St. Vincents
Dining Room has welcomed the hungry with open arms. Today, the Dining Room serves about 400 meals every day. No preaching, no fee, no questions are asked of the hungry who come here. The menu changes daily, but not the mission: to provide a simple but hearty meal to sustain the body and warm the soul.

On November 10, 2005 the first meal was served in the new Dining
Room, a beautiful building with
restrooms, an indoor waiting area, and more than double the current
seating capacity. Funding was provided by the City of Reno and a $1 million grant from the E.L. Wiegand Foundation.

With a $166,700 grant from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, new equipment for the Dining Room as well as the Food Pantry was purchased. Part of the new Reno Community Assistance Center, the Dining Room is located at 325 Valley Rd., just yards from the Reno Sparks Gospel Mission and Men's Drop-in Shelter. (A new Family Shelter is expected to be built within the next year.)

The new Dining Room is also just across the road from the St. Vincent's Center, offering convenient access to the Food Pantry, Emergency Assistance, Thrift Shop, Adoptions, and Administrative offices.
Additional funding for the Dining Room has also come from the E.L. Cord Foundation, Robert Z. Hawkins Foundation, B.C. McCabe Foundation, and the Nell J. Redfield Foundation. The generous support of these foundations--and people like you--makes our mission possible: to provide help and create hope for hundreds of people every single day.
